“Wait!” Penn shouted at the top of his lungs. “We can’t leave. Mr. Whiskers is missing!”

CHAPTER 7

PETS ON THE RUN

Penn flew back and forth across the room, not sure what to do.

“Try not to worry, Penn. We’ll find Mr. Whiskers,” I said. “When was the last time you saw him?”

Penn thought for a moment. “He was right next to me helping me search, but after that sneaky cat, Mr. Pebbles, came by, I lost track of him.”

“I saw Mr. Pebbles run off with a bag,” Allie said.

“That cat was eyeing Mr. Whiskers all day. I’m sure he has something to do with this,” Penn said. “We need to go after him!”

“Good idea,” I agreed. “I think we should split up again. Ben and Allie, will you stay and keep looking for the treasure map here in the vault?”

“We’re on it!” Allie and Ben nodded.

Then Penn, Chaos, and I ran out the door.
